It makes sense. Gerald Genta didn't follow anyone else's design rules. That's what makes his link designs recognizable. But link unlike a lot of apocryphal link stories of Genta's designs – and there are a ton – this one came from the man himself.

Children liked it. (Pretty colors!) Teenagers liked it. (Cool, but not too serious!) Old people liked it. (Oh wait, that's me, who liked it for link all those reasons link plus, obviously, the diamonds link which we will get to later.)
