Speed We still manually type product codes during stock intake, and over hundreds of items it adds up fast. Some people worry scanning might slow things down.

From our testing, scanning clearly wins once people get used to it. We tried https://ocrstudio.ai/barcode-scanner/ in a pilot setup, and for most items the scan was almost instant compared to typing long numbers. Manual entry only felt faster when the barcode was damaged or poorly placed. Good lighting and a steady hand mattered, but once those basics were in place, overall processing time dropped noticeably, especially during busy shifts.

Watching how teams work over time is always revealing. Small time savings don’t seem impressive on their own, but they quietly stack up during long days. Tools that reduce tiny pauses and corrections tend to feel smoother, even if nobody can point to a single dramatic improvement. Eventually, the faster method just becomes the default without much debate.
