Should I unbox or just sell CS2 cases?

I got a few Operation Riptide and Dreams & Nightmares cases from drops. Tempted to open them, but I’m not sure if it’s smarter to sell while prices are still decent. Do people actually profit from unboxing anymore?

Unboxing is fun but definitely a gamble. You’re usually better off selling unless you get lucky.

Honestly, the odds are stacked against you unless you're chasing a specific knife or rare skin. The math rarely works out in your favor long-term. https://dmarket.com/cs2-wiki/ has actual case profit calculators and drop rate tables that helped me decide. Most cases have such low odds for anything worthwhile that it's basically entertainment value, not profit. If you need the skins, just buy them outright. Selling sealed cases when demand spikes — like after a new operation announcement — is often the smartest play.
