Grand Seiko SBGD202 Spring DriveBesides my soft spot for gold these days (you can read here about that recent obsession), it was the dial that made me feel that falske klokker this rose gold Grand SeikoSBGD202 Spring Drive is even more to my personal taste than the platinum beast (SBGD201) that was shown to us in basel.As some of you will know, Rolex, Wallpaper*, and Nicholas Foulkes collaborated on Oyster Perpetual Submariner: The Watch that Unlocked the Deep.Following the growing trend of putting a bright and colorful dial on otherwise everyday-intended and largely unobtrusive sports watches (see Rolex OP, Omega Aqua Terra, etc.), I think these look great, wear beautifully, and it's really hard to argue with the price. Red for me.

Key components worth noting are link the translation of the Gulf colors into the three o'clock subdial which, in link turn, shows off a particular vintage serif-style numerical presentation – link as if it were hand-painted back in the 1970s. That same stylized typography can be found on the Monaco wordmark itself. Capping things off is a very '70s presentation of the stripes on the right side of the dial. link
