If you're collecting, you tend (of course) to focus on whatever it is that is in the bullseye for your tastes, tendencies, and budget, but it's interesting to step back a little and see just how diverse offerings – even at roughly the same estimate – can be. Here are four coming up tomorrow from Christie's New York's Rare Watches (including Nautilus 40 Part IV) auction billig zenith uhren – all in similar price ranges, but appealing to very different tastes.The new Oyster Perpetual lineup comes in five sizes: 28, 31, 34, 36, and 41mm. However, don't think you're getting the same set of watches in every size. This is Rolex we're talking about – that would be too easy. Let's break down the differences, and see what all the fuss is about.The lug width shrinks from 22mm down to 20mm, which should make the strap lovers out there happy. Next, the lug-to-lug sees a major downsizing from approximately 52mm to 44.7mm. Lastly, this new 38mm model does not feature the Morse code markings on the seconds hand.
One interesting facet to this story is that Audemars Piguet says that this watch was developed in collaboration with collector Austen Chu (who you probably know as @horoloupe on Instagram). We're obviously no stranger here at HODINKEE to working with watch brands on limited editions, but it's really fascinating to see a major brand work with an individual collector instead of a retailer or publication. The confusion of five-letter A words aside, included in that email was a link to a watch … a fourth Space Jam watch.Of the two new ranges, the 38mm is the most like the Aqua Terras we already know. While both of the new sizes have been presented without the Aqua Terras' usual teak-effect dial, the 38mm does get the pointed rhodium-plated markers common to the larger Aqua Terra models. While this isn't the first time Omega has made a 38mm Aqua Terra, it is a new "less is more" way of thinking about the aesthetic, and the outcome largely hinges on the dial coloring.
