Here's the thing: A 1463 in yellow gold is, in itself, not particularly special. Sure, they are far more rare and charming than a 5070J or 5170J, but they are out there, and in so-so condition touch the $100,000 mark. A ton of money, no doubt, but not so in the realm of super high-end vintage Patek. A 1463 yellow in a Phillips sale would, frankly, not typically be worth writing about unless it came with a special two-tone dial or was in really remarkable condition.Tim Allen's Nesmith is the captain of an ensemble cast of characters. The Advanced Research Travel Time is an obvious departure from previous Advanced Research watches. It is, first of all, the first Advanced Research watch to not be an annual or perpetual calendar; it is the first not goedkope patek philippe horloge in a round case; and moreover it's pretty resolutely non-traditional in styling. In addition, it's the first Advanced Research watch to present an innovation in a material other than silicon.I'mWe start at the top, with the tachymeter (or Tachymetre) on the bezel for you motorheads out there. We then work down to the Telemeter (or Telemetre) graduated for km for the war buffs, followed by the Pulsometer graduated for 30 pulsations (or Gradue Pour 30 Pulsations) for the wannabe hero who comes to the rescue in that moment when someone yells "Is anyone a doctor?" Please don't do that.I spent even more trying to come up with relevant Hublot-isms and finally landed on a color descriptor: Astroturf Green, because "Hublot loves football." Which feels like a cheap shot, but it's the best I could do, without consulting Werner's Nomenclature of Color, which just felt pretentious.

Sometimes, it's the slow burn that proves that a watch is going to be great not just now but for the long haul. I frankly didn't think much of the Tudor Black Bay "Monochrome"  when it came out at Watches & Wonders. In a 41mm by 13.5mm case and all-black dial and bezel combo, there's not much remarkable about the watch on paper. But that's the point. And to truly understand it, you need to look a bit closer.
