The last of the three new models is the Seiko Prospex Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore SPB511. This watch is based on Seiko's modern interpretation of its famous 62MAS. As some of you will know, the latest iteration of that series debuted aPunctuated by a fine bezel and screw-down crown, both covered with fluting, the bronze case measures 40mm in diameter and features Father Time engraved in relief on its steel back. The case houses the Oris caliber 754, a 4hz movement with automatic winding by bidirectional oscillating weight, based on a Sellita SW 200-1 and providing a 38-hour power reserve.One of our favorite listeners, Richard, suggested the topic, and it's a good one! As for the back, it reveals a repliky IWC sapphire crystal window on which is stamped the metalized head of a falcon.If you look very closely, you will also see what looks like a decidedly non-standard lever on the underside of the balance. Turn the balance over, and you'll see something which, if you were expecting a standard lever and escape wheel, is almost a shock: a brand new type of dual-impulse escapement.
