This is the second bi-colour watch in the set of Speedmaster Tokyo 2020 Limited Edition Rolex Datejust watches, but this time with rose gold, or "Sedna" gold as Omega calls it.Both watches feature a micro-painting done by hand in Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Atelier Metiers Rares in Le Sentier.
The Atum 37 Hommage is cased in yellow gold, and is 37mm x 9.2mm. The connection between the pocket watch and the wristwatch is very obvious on comparison of the dials: both are fired enamel, with delicate, elongated Roman numerals and a chemin de fer (or Bell & Ross Aviation Instruments maybe bahngleis?) minute track, with no sub-seconds register, and with heat-blued hands.The strangest thing about the Cal. A01 movement is that the seconds hand (and the seconds hand only) runs backward. It plays with the concept of time like other watches that have recently come to the market (the Cartier Santos Dumont Rewind and Xhevdet Rexhepi's Minute Inerte come to mind), but this one has a consistent and legible time display. And while the sapphire might have been complex to manufacture, I had no trouble reading the watch while wearing it.
