Second, and this is interesting, I was in no rush to pick up a Speedmaster because the current model looks so much like the vintage pieces.At last year's Watches & Wonders, the Santos Dumont stole the show. I'm talking specifically about the models with the lacquered cases Jaeger LeCoultre Master – and even more specifically the green version in pink gold. I must have visited the Cartier booth five times just to keep looking at that watch.A gem-set release from Le Brassus always feels like a special occasion. One of those events that has about zero relevance to my actual reality but is still spiritually important. Like a royal wedding, or, if we were living back in the 1900s, a high society debutante ball. Regal and shiny and fun to look at. A little beacon of hope for me to latch myself onto.
