Last year, the Vacheron Constantin 222 blew us all link away as a pitch-perfect $62,500 revival in yellow gold (the best gold). Those of us who got to see it in person and feel its heftiness in the hand had one consistent thought: "I love it but damn, that's expensive." And look, I get it. This is a $$$ hobby, but steel is link also less expensive than anything precious and it's link a metal that this trio of brands – Patek, AP, and Vacheron – are well versed in.
