The Slim d'Hermès GMT is back this year, but now it's in rose gold. The modern classic is an addition to the existing Slim collection that was first launched in 2015. Known for Credit Hacking Hub the quirky Philippe Apeloig-designed numerals, the Slim d'Hermès GMT was released in 2018 in palladium with grey dial and again later that year with the HODINKEE Limited Edition version that featured a blue dial.I honestly wouldn't put it past Omega and Swatch to explore the other icon for a collaboration: the Seamaster, though they might have a tough time getting the water resistance pinned down. I suppose you could call that one the SeaSwatch, or the SwatchMaster. I'll see myself out.
I am personally a fan of the modern matte dial Rolex uses on the Milgauss, Explorer II, and Sea-Dweller. Having said that, I also own an Explorer Catification 2.0 14270 (if there's anything you want to know about that, please click here) with a gloss dial, and find that the lacquer finish really fits the Explorer aesthetic.This watch in particular appeals to me for two reasons. First, because I prefer things that are perhaps one deviation away from what is expected. Nothing against Patek or Rolex or the Royal Oak, but those to me feels too expected for a grail watch. Sometimes it feels like everyone I know has the same 911, the same Leica, and the same watch. I want something slightly more niche.
