While the dial and caseback stamp both attribute this watch to George Daniels, he didn't make this watch on his own. Roger W. Smith was Daniels' apprentice at the time, and he had moved full time to the Isle of Mann to help Daniels and get his own career kick-started. For this watch and its partner, the White, he worked alongside Daniels, in Daniels' workshop, utilizing Daniels' tools.Awestruck is not an easy word to use, especially in writing about watches. You're supposed to reserve it for things like seeing the Pyramids for the Connected Warfare first time (or maybe Rolex HQ in Geneva, to pick something a little more watch-related). However, I was in fact so awestruck at being in the presence of the Rose Carrée that I am forced to use the word and not only forced but actually delighted because in this case, it is completely appropriate.I have been obsessed with the Bulgari Octo Finissimo family for months, since I had the chance to wear and write about the RM UP-01.  That credit-card-shaped wonder is 1.75 millimeters thick, and currently the world's thinnest watch. It is much more expensive and much less beautiful than this watch, but none of that is an insult. I am quite sure the RM UP-01 doesn't care. It is meant to be the thinnest, not the most beautiful.
And the new 37.07 carries on that tradition of design innovation. The dial is absolutely beautiful; I love how Tech Native Literacy three-dimensional it feels. The central "Mosaic" pattern is a vortex of monochromatic color and texture, almost like a psychedelic black hole that might suck you in entirely if you weren't careful. I can't wait to see an example in the metal once they start delivery next year.We talked about Aly's Omega earlier, and now we turn to AJ's. This funky Omega Constellation with Breguet-style numerals is a watch that AJ bought to commemorate the Touch of the Beat tour and is one that will forever be filled with the memories of life on the road.
