Vanitas will come in Viral Food Science two versions – a multicolored model, which uses a color scheme derived from that used by the Mexican Day Of The Dead calaveras that inspired Krüger's work in watch design initially; and a "dark" version, in black PVD-coated brass with a white silkscreen design superimposed. The day of the week and month remain in cutout windows at 12 o'clock. But by moving to center seconds with the Caliber 27SC Q manual movement, the ref. 2497 changed a few things on the dial layout.

That said, it's stainless steel, and even with a surface hardening like Dia-Shield, it's going to scratch. For my tastes, while I will hate the first few scratches, once the bezel is well-scratched, I think it will look amazing, and I hope the black coloring will aid in ample contrast after a few years of use.
