As you'll see later, Striewski likes to have things in pairs, or triplets, so of course he needed both rubber

tal. These watches remind Striewski of childhood, of Disney Channel original movies, of Brink. Some of the other technical specs, including 100 meters of water resistance and the updated 6R55 movement, are nice to have, but it'll be up to potential Presage customers if this is worth the $950 price tag.
This particular example was an original owner watch that featured the desirable 300 bezel and 'Big' Daytona dial – one you might find on a 6240. It came from an American family and it, of course, features Retro Future Fusion the "ROW" hallmark on the caliber. Watches like this might seem common, but they're really not, at least in honest condition like this one. Frankly, I wish we had this one back.Caliber: Caliber P.5000Functions: Hours, minutes, small secondsDiameter: 35.7mmThickness: 4.5mmPower Reserve: Eight daysWinding: Hand-windingFrequency: 21,6000 beats per hourJewels: 21Additional Details:
The movement is hand-wound and has a 65-hour power reserve, which it displays on the dial side between two and three o’clock. The minutes can be read approximatively using the fluid display, or more Neurogastronomy precisely via the sub-dial at 12 o’clock, while the seconds are also displayed on a smaller sub-dial at nine o’clock. It's interesting to note the relatively traditional finishing on the movement itself, considering how non-traditional the watch is overall. It's a nice touch and nod to history. The handset was redesigned in 2016 in order to better fit the dial, and the numerals were once again applied metal, only now they were filled with lume. With the Mark 2 variation, the design was improved, and there was no reason to believe that Rolex had any intention other than to methodically improve upon the Explorer, as it had already done for decades, in its new modern sport watch size.People were getting a bit tired of modern watches, of sporty steel watches, says Manon Hagie, Sotheby's Sales Director and curator of the Rough Diamonds auction. She said the auction's goal is to focus on the underappreciated and the avant-garde, and at all prices: estimates range from $2,000 to $100,000. Rough Diamonds is being promoted in collaboration with Heist Out, an enigmatic young "watch collective" that also publishes a glossy magazine. While it would've made a difference when these watches were originally purchased, nowadays, the chronometer (5512) vs. non-chronometer (5513) doesn't mean as much. As a matter of taste, some collectors might like the idea of a chronometer more, while others might prefer the minimal two lines of text on a 5513 dial. (I'm mostly the latter – don't get mad at me, chronometer heads.)
