Hey everyone! I was wondering what you all use to clean your carpets? I have a few high-traffic areas in my home that are starting to look a little worse for wear, and I want to freshen them up. Do you prefer DIY methods, or do you use a specific tool or cleaning solution? I'm also curious if anyone has any tips for cleaning stains that seem impossible to get out, like coffee or wine. Would love to hear your advice!

I usually prefer steam cleaning for my carpets. It’s super effective at lifting dirt and refreshing the fibers. I rent a steam cleaner every few months to give my carpets a deep clean, but for smaller messes, I use a homemade solution of dish soap, water, and a tiny bit of hydrogen peroxide for stains. It’s saved my carpet a few times when I’ve spilled something dark, like tea or juice!

For general cleaning, I usually rely on a mix of warm water and mild soap. It works wonders for regular maintenance and doesn't damage the fibers. For tougher stains, like coffee or wine, I’ve found that blotting them with a mix of white vinegar and baking soda works really well. Just make sure to test it on a small, hidden area first to be safe! As for tools, I sometimes use a small hand tool specifically for spot-cleaning. It’s really convenient for quick fixes and doesn’t take much time to use. Another thing I’d recommend is regular vacuuming, at least twice a week if you have pets or kids. This helps prevent dirt from embedding too deeply into the carpet. Oh, and don’t forget to clean under furniture once in a while—you’d be surprised how much dust accumulates there. What about you? Do you have pets? That could change how often you need to clean. Or you could use a local company to have everything done faster
