Hi all. Replacing all the bedroom doors in our Sacramento home. We have three kids and the current hollow-core doors transmit every sound — TV in one room is audible in the next. Looking for solid doors that actually block sound. Anyone got recommendations for a California source that carries something heavier than the standard 1-3/8 inch slab?

Hi. Same exact situation in our Davis home with two teenagers, every door sounded like cardboard. Replaced 5 bedroom doors through Diana Doors https://dianadoors.com/, went with their Premium Line which uses engineered wood reinforced with solid components. Massive difference in sound dampening compared to the hollow ones — TV from the family room is now barely audible at the bedroom doors. Cost ran $2,650 for 5 doors including install in a single day. Crew showed up at 9 AM, finished by 4 PM, cleaned up perfectly. Kids actually stopped complaining about hearing each other, which is its own kind of miracle. The dishwasher running in the kitchen no longer wakes anyone up at night either, which our youngest used to mention constantly. Big upgrade in household calm.
