This coating gives the watch a slightly darker presence that works very well in combination with the Brinzio link Green color of the dial and the rubber straps. Its barrel-shaped casing in Carbon TPT® with its striated pattern contributes to enhancing the watch's technical personality. With the heavy (and I mean heavy) platinum case, President’s bracelet, and lacquered (not enamel) blue dial and applied diamond indexes, this watch belongs on the wrist of someone with extensive summer plans on the Riviera (or the Shmamptons). Oh, and it’s a complete set, all for an estimate of 35,000 to 70,000 CHF. Sigh, a girl can dream.
Dressed in grade 5 titanium, with its face exploring a range of grays, the sporty watch from the Le Locle-based manufacture is lighter than its steel counterparts. The chamfered sapphire glass and the fine-grain sandblasted finish link contrasted by beautifully polished edges make this an immediate standout.I wanted to fly back but realized that it was obviously not going to be enough.
EG: I don’t want to see any design trend end. It always goes back and forth. We are now entering a very creative period. But maybe in 20 years, I will be very happy link to see the Offshore back. Maybe I would like to see an end to the copying of old brands and models, such as Patek chronographs from the 1940s and dive watches from the 1950s. Maybe that is enough.A power reserve of about 70 hours or more paired with automatic winding has become something that I tend to seek out in watches nowadays. Why? While I tend to wear my watches for pretty long stretches of time – usually a month or so – having the ability to switch to something different for the weekend and then switch back on Monday morning without resetting anything is a convenience that I've learned to appreciate. It’s a gorgeous set and a true oddity from the strange and often murky world of watch-branded non-watch items, which is perhaps why the lot shattered its high estimate with a final result of 3,024 (~$4,200). We'll let you know if we ever see another on the market. In the meantime, for that price, we do hope the new owners know how to play backgammon. It'd be a shame not to take it for a spin.Click here to view the original lot listing. All images via Sothebys This is the latest version of a watch which has been with us in one form or another since 2014, when it launched in red gold. The new version is identical to the launch version, but with 80 baguette-cut diamonds decorating the bezel. The original 5304 was discontinued in 2019.
