In general, RMM tools and PSA software uses an independent, agent-based approach to management and monitoring. Each monitored endpoint requires an RMM to be installed in order for that to function. It gathers data from separate machines and sends it back to the central management portal. Additionally, it can act in other directions as well, offering a way for remotely managed features to reach the destination.
