Dive watches are immensely popular amongst watch aficionados. However, most of them are never used for the task for which they're designed. I've been diving for quite link some years now. As such, I've always worn a dive watch from my collection alongside my trusty dive computer. Today on Speedy Tuesday, we’ll return to a watch we’ve reviewed before, the Omega Speedmaster link Apollo XI 35th Anniversary limited edition.Coinciding with Verstappen's opportunity to win the title, the brand releases the latest version of the Monaco Chronograph.Where their Sea Wolf divers stood out from the crowd with a pop of color, the brand's dress offerings, like this Triple Date Moon Phase reference 742-908, stand out in quality and attention to detail for their price point. This is not a watch we see very often but is certainly special and truly surprised me in the metal. Wearing it around the office for a few days, the watch reminds me that there is so much more to the world of watches beyond Patek, Rolex, and the rest.Last year, Rolex introduced the 1908 collection as its dressed-up replacement for the Cellini, with a quartet of simple yellow and white gold models with silver or black dials. Now, it's introducing a platinum 1908; in typical Rolex fashion, it's paired with an icy-blue dial with what it calls a "rice-grain" motif. It's on a brown alligator strap with the same inner green lining seen on last year's 1908 straps.
Regarding the link decoration, the movement is highly finished and includes colimacon (or snailing), Cotes de Genève, and perlage treatments.The fact that the fabrication process can be so precisely controlled, allowed Panerai to make a case of unprecedented in lightness, by skeletonizing the internal structure of the case without sacrificing strength and durability. In 2016 it was the very first watch ever created with a case produced by metal 3D printing, but the flexibility and creative possibilities of the process mean that there are many potential uses in the future.Continuing with the design, the watch contains SuperLumiNova treatment on both the dial and the bezel, which has a unique styling meant to be reminiscent of the ridges on rock formations. While there's no bracelet on this watch, it does come equipped with TAG's now-signature integrated-style rubber strap with a twin-trigger clasp. The new Aquaracer Solar will be available starting in October 2022.
