The material with its corroded look, scratches link and brushes, looks simply amazing and play nicely with light.The date is a bit more of a challenge as the date ring lies deeper in the case and is not pink.One of the most interesting things about the Grand Seiko Sport Collection SBGV245 is that it is immediately very convincing as a sports watch, but when you get up close, you see all the care in craft and design that characterizes Grand Seiko at its best. The hands, markers, and finish on the dial itself are all first class – the dial in particular has a wonderful horizontal brushed finish which can appear very vivid, or look completely matte, depending on the angle at which the light hits it.As I wore it, I put on a beloved Grateful Dead T-shirt, this one featuring a skeleton dressed as a cowboy riding through the desert, and sat contentedly in my living room. I sent some pictures to my friends. ("Incredible," one friend said. Another told me I had become a parody of myself.) All in all, I felt like I'd found some not-half-bad band merch. But then again I'm biased: After all, I'm a fan.

I also really dig the push-button actuation for setting the time and using the crown. But the Papillon is also just a beautiful thing. And though we have seen variations of this design from Bulgari, I find the combo of DLC coating and green coloration to be pretty compelling.
More recently, with its ZM 1 and ZM 2 watches, the famous red-dot link brand illustrated its ability to finalize a watchmaking project boasting a real stylistic and technical personality, by adding Made-in-Germany components, in particular a hand-wound caliber.Honestly, when Nacho sent me the first pictures of the newest Serica design when he was in Paris recently, I didn't quite know how to react.Flipping the watch to the back side exposes a view that fights the front for best in class.
