Even if Omega hasn't pushed the Mars Watch narrative, some astronauts are looking forward to it. Buzz Aldrin, American astronaut and one of the first two men on the Moon, announced in 2016 that he was working with Omega to design a watch for Mars. I haven't heard anything about that since but never say never. There may one day be a true Omega Marswatch Professional.The first are indicated by golden Dauphine-shaped hands topped with white Super-LumiNova®, and the latter by a fine direct drive which sweeps rhythmically over the historic link Montblanc logo, printed in white and set at 12 o’clock.Last year, we already held an Omega Trilogy event in the Tourbillon boutique in Baden-Baden, and last Saturday we worked together with Glashütte Original to show their novelties and give an insight into German watchmaking.The sub-second disc is at 4 o’clock and there is also a 24 hour indicator disc at 9.

They gave him this Patek Philippe ref. 3802 Calatrava when he became a lawyer in the U.K. Its presence on his wrist is a reminder of his parents, their generosity, and the family's shared passion.The two chronograph trains are symmetrical, with one caveat – the train from the upper barrel has to pass under one of the two large intermediate wheels. This means that the center wheel of the train and the intermediate wheel have to be on the same axis.
As you first encounter it, the Astrograph is an elongated teardrop, with window-like depressions picked out in black lacquer at the narrow end. The wider end has three curved metal elements ending in sharp points, and there's a miniature ladder going up one side of the barrel that ends in a tiny link door.For the curious, Romain Gauthier was once again involved in this project. The independent watchmaker, who Chanel chose to support several years ago in exchange for his expertise, was involved in developing Calibre 1, and once again has provided the new movement's wheels. However, the movement was designed by Chanel's studio in Paris and is brought together by a small team at the Swiss manufacturer Chatelain.Instead of giving you the usual step-by-step walkthrough, I thought I'd share six of the coolest things I saw inside Montblanc. These range from watchmaking skill to vintage ephemera to details that happened to catch my eye. Without further ado, here we go.
