Just a few days ago, I reported that the Seiko A829-A6019 was one link of the 'other' watches that went into space. Besides the official Omega Speedmaster Pro, Omega Speedmaster Pro X-33 and a bunch of other 'unofficial' watches that made it there, it seems that Seiko was at least selected by astronauts.With my knowledge of watches stuck in the late 1800s and early 1900s, I became curious about what had happened to the watch industry since then. Another quick Google search led me to a website called Hodinkee, and I was hit with an overwhelming deluge of information.The Rivanera from the Italian brand Echo/Neutra came as a surprise. Scroll through its previous releases, and you'll see most of its watches are homage-y sports watches, often resembling models from Bell & Ross. But earlier this month, the Rivanera dropped, a modern take on the rectangular watch.
