Now, on the face of it, it seems that I've drawn the short straw with the 40mIn link the 1970's, brands like Seiko and Pulsar were introducing railroad watches with highly accurate quartz movements.Buying pre-owned can be an attractive option for several reasons but only if you can do so with confidence.The gradual update of their calibers with the new generation design language is also a nice touch. I wonder if we'll see back catalog offerings get the same treatment or see newer colorways replace them. I'm sure it would be much easier to have all the caliber finishings aligned from a production standpoint. In the meantime, though, I look forward to seeing this watch in person and very much look forward to meeting buyers who plan on taking this thing straight into the ocean.

Wijlick acquired the AiThe modern-day Breguet and Dodane companies both produce a variant of the Type 20/XX Chronograph, but after reviewing the images and technical specs of the latest edition from Airain, it really feels like this is the closest you can get to the original, outside of buying a vintage example. In fact, the Airain Type 20 Re-Edition closely meets nearly every one of the expectations that link were originally laid out by the French government in the 1950s.The whole movement's like that. The jewels in any traditionally laid-out, hand-wound movement with small seconds naturally form a sort of logarithmic spiral but Dufour's genius in the design of this movement was to take that relationship and shine a spotlight on it.
