The movements come from the Elite range Zenith's other automatic movement which link is not a chronograph like the El Primero and has long lived in the shadow of the El Primero. Nonetheless the Elite movement range link which launched back in 1994 has been around for some time and launched to critical acclaim back in the '90s. Made fully in-house by Zenith the Elite 670SK features a frequency of 28800 vph and comes with link a power reserve of 50 hours.

Sure at a distance the new 222 looks a link lot like the old 222. But look closer and you'll see and feel a lot of aesthetic and technical link refinements link that make this new version of the 222 more than a pastiche of the 1970s. It's this thoughtful refinement combined with the historical importance of the 222 that makes it our Revival of the Year.
