Ok where are we with RoG ?


We are in the middle of changing the tutorial at the start of the game, concerns were raised over the time period it would take a player to create a character, start the game and get to about level 20, so we have automated the tutorial so players are able to get through that and start playing the game faster.

AS it takes close to 25 dungeons to unlock most of the aspects of the game, that can actually take up to 2-3 days, which in gamer terms, is a long time as that is about 30 hours of game play, thats running solo, not in a team which will speed things up a lot


Now, getting to dungeon 10, can be done in under one hour but thats without rushing the game play... players still have control over checking what has been unlocked, what it does, etc....and make decisions about skill placement and equipment but they can also auto run the dungeons which is faster than doing it solo and manual. Teams unlock in the first few dungeons, for the players that perfer hands on game play

We are also addressing the bugs with the new system....


Rebalancing the game, we are reducing the atk of the elite bosses....and dungeon difficulty as it is considered to be too high.... we do not want to return to the original system where soloing was very easy but we want a middle game where soloing is a challenge to players and team work is better but not a situation where teams are constantly failing because they run out of time. Running into elite bosses that hit hard and have resistances and atk / magic block, is actually quite a challenge.


VIP system is unchanged but now free players can unlock the benefits of the 2nd thrall slot at level 50, so we are going with a cash payer advantage in the game with unlocking things faster but rewarding players for game play as well.

That to us is viewed as a incentive to play the game... and with the level 70 rebirth system we have planned, it allows free players to gain benefits then rebirth and run the dungeons with added ass kicking.....

rebirth will be available to all players.


Guild system update which is coming in the first version update, is planned to have a guild shop where items that are vip restricted, can still be gained by free players in the guild shop......


SO we are trying to get a balance where VIP players retain the increased drop rate in dungeons which means that running dungeons with vip players, benefits free players. Cashing players retain the benefit of getting items in game faster by cashing but the same items are generally available via game play.

Naturally the game is supported by cash flow but the game play should not be dictated by who has the biggest wallet......and that is where the team play side of it comes into it......and also character build, as each dungeon is different, the elite bosses reroll their stats and so the cashed up player may find that they have run into a atk block, high physical def boss and the weaker free players they teamed with, are doing more damage than they are.....


Bearing that in mind, the event system is structured around game play and resets reqularly so spending a lot of money then not playing for two days, means that other players can move up in the rankings and enjoy better rewards.


FB app is proving to be a problem and we may end up launching without it, tho the game can still be accessed via FB and FB gameroom....


Changing the main bar at the bottom of the screen, is being worked on....


Instead of just revising launch dates, its better to share with players why we are revising launch dates, what is happening behind the scenes, what changes are being made and where... that way players can feel like they are more involved in game development and get a understanding of how much work is going into a game.

Again, once the game is launched, that will continue with our planned loyal player feedback system where they are able to drop ideas on the ROG development team directly


As some players are aware, with the closure of felspire and siegelord, that actually reduces our workload, which is still very high and stressful as there is still the other games to watch over and manage. and while it is a shame to see any game close, it is the reality of gaming and news has come to us that luckily we only have two games by that company but they are closing a lot of their games....so I can only imagine the real number of affected players is much higher..... my heart goes out to them because some of the players at AMZ, have played since the games opened and in the case of SL, thats about 3 years.

Unfortunately for players, most games do not hit 2 years before they have died and the developers have moved on to other games.... the goal with ROG is to break the 2 year mark and still be growing as a game, maybe not as big as wartune or LoA... but its nice to think that RoG will be our first 100+ server game and rather than open, merge, open merge, we can have open, open, open and with the shared world system, a lot less merge merge merge.....

OF course we would have to consider have more than one shared world server system otherwise it would be lag central if we had 5000+ active players on the same server........


For players running alt accounts, yes it is possible to use them in a team and run the dungeon auto on the alts and manual on the mains.... We get that some players perfer that style of personal game play rather than joining teams of players where personal conflict can happen......but the answer is no, we are not going to have a market place where players can use alts to fund mains......

We get that a market place is a benefit to the game.... there have been times that I have wanted a specific skill for my build and I have had to wait for it to drop in a dungeon.....we will consider a skill convert system in the future but not at this stage......

using the argument that you want a perferred weapon of a certain level, will not work, because as of level 30, you can craft equipment...... and yes we know about getting the right level weapon type of a set so you can complete the set and get the aura.... we will address that in the future, there is 8 sets, 4 items per set and being able to complete sets is important to players.


anyways, I will update again next week unless we have the confirmed launch date by then in which case, I will get all excited, nervous and hope that we have a successful opening that is bug free...... current feedback is that there is a lot of interested players looking forward to playing ROG, many of whom are very experienced and knowledgable gamers who know what they want in gaming........ and for us, that means a lot

Apparently there's been some miscommunication at the office Kit. Both closed were locked sometime yesterday and an S1 was opened. based on one account charging is obviously open as well.

Hopefully you see this quick enough to have it repealed, and then deal with reimbursing that player for when the actual launch was meant to happen.

Also, while I haven't got into much of it, as like some I refuse to take a late start account seriously, the "exciting events" icon is bugged. How so, is in that ALL time brackets were left at the 19th of April as a start date, rather then changed to in this case the 8th of May. 


*edit: Also the reverting to 1st place; blinking, in arena upon attempted selection of 2-10 is still exists...

OB1 was opened for a short time to test the advertising server and FB app login, we can not do that on the dev server as its a isolated server on a different host server but the dev server was ghosted and used as the OB1 server.....


according to the payment logs, there was attempted recharges on the server but no successful recharging. I see 3 individual accounts tried to recharge, 2 using paymentwall and paymentship and one using FB recharging


Events and server will be reset and redated at OB 1 launch, there is 4 pages of events, about half of them run in the first week...... we created the events and tested them a few weeks ago....which is why you are seeing the date you are.... again it has to do with ghosting the dev server to use as a OB1 server

Lucky for the players and unfortunately for the GMs, OB1 server will be a new non dev server so no dev tools for the GMs to use... which is not a bad thing, leveling from 1 -100 on a new char in a couple of minutes, takes the fun out of playing lol


I believe there is a bug with the arena.... there are still a few bugs that need to be fixed, some may not be fixed until the first version update as thats planned to change some things in the game and its easier to ignore the bugs and replace the system than fix the bugs....sounds wrong I know but its a question of time available and work to be completed.

so the focus has been on operational and bug play bugs after than appearance, and 99% of appearance bugs are fixed

Good to know it wasn't a silent release then at least. On the topic of no cash going through, and if as you say this test is unable to have dev interference, then you might want to check the logs on Ymeka (by far first instances if nothing else). In less than 14 hours they acquired a 2 gold star mythic walking corpse thrall, the buy only 2nd set of wings; unless charge reward, and have amassed a whopping 191 instance stars up til now; less than 24 hours, all within solo play. Everything else is within a high luck i would say, and without definitive proof i prefer not calling people out, but given this will be wiped anyway I'd like to have it double checked if there's someone free. Wouldn't be the first time some issue has slipped through and later caused problems, and I'd like to NOT see that happen. That and after the forum redesign pm's were regrettably axed.


On the arena bug, I'd like to think it would be a priority to fix before launch, and not a first large patch wait. This is because otherwise you are essentially saying if you want to be in 2nd-10th before that happens then you either get lucky not being effected ever, are able to beat first, or are one of the first few to gain the slot at launch before whichever CC-flexer inevitably does quickly take first. As you have to keep in mind the however many days of unjust rewards that would bring those that could get into 2nd-10th, with which the amount of approximate time previously stated until that first big patch after release could; with current rewards, add up to quite a significant gap in rewarded diamonds. Not to mention subsequent strength gain elsewhere from it. Then you will also have to contemplate the pvp subset of players that would come in, see one of the few places currently in game for them to do so be as such and be quickly turned off by it; especially given how long it's been a known issue.


Now others are free to put down what they would think fair in their own minds, but should it be something still listed on unwilling or unable to have fixed before that month+ estimate; which i'd be surprised to see sooner then around 3 honestly, I'd suggest current rank reward removed entirely. 

Others suggestions could be made like cheapening the rewards until then, or making 2nd as 11th and so on, but that still wouldn't allow balancing the unjust gains previously mentioned. 


Lastly, I don't know if this was intended but level ranking rewards are being distributed far more then once daily; unlike the rest. I've yet to confirm if it's just a time release thing, or if it's based on each time ranks refresh and you change placement, but it's something to be aware of.


p.s.- If it would help on the arena issue, I'd be willing to make a quick video and send the link in a support ticket. Wouldn't think i'd need to as it was a common issue seen in the prior version, of which you knowingly already acknowledged at at least one point in the world chat, and it hasn't changed since, but I thought I'd offer all the same.

Ymeka... that is possible to do that... because the game version is not the updated version. 2 gold star mythic, that can be from the thrall summon and a bit of luck....

two star is easy to get, thats got by leveling up the thrall and players do get thrall exp stones ......  gold or mythic is best thrall quality but walking corpse is one of the bottom ranked mythic of more than 40 thrall in the game

I have got mythic thrall card drops in insane dungeon runs as a free player but they are low end mythic....

There is 10 levels to each thrall and once you get to about level 4-5, it is harder to level because of the exp needed.


190 stars, they have done about 40 resource instances so thats 40 stars, the first ten dungeons running all 3 difficultie will give 90 stars... so its not that hard to do


the first set of wings are free, second set can come from rewards or the mall. 3rd and 4th can only be gained from rewards chests. Players can get diamonds from dismantling gear and as rewards for crazy and insane mode dungeons..... running the first 10 solo at level 25+ is possible, crazy gives 60 diamonds, insane gives 100 diamonds.

Using a thrall would allow the player to run dungeons solo but once you hit about dungeon 20, then crazy mode starts getting damned hard and insane mode ? major ouch......


But at the end of the day, its something that is odd to you, so yes, if I was you I would have questioned it as well.....  now if the person was using dev tools then you would see things like level 100,  1 million diamonds, set items, reward chests that will announce what the player got, even level 10 gems which can not be crafted in the game...etc and trust me the reward chests or soldier / knight etc gear if you get anything like that, the server announces it to the whole game....... so on the dev server, there was massive announcement spamming of world chat during testing.....


the OB1 server version is an old dev version not the new version....its open for FB testing by the techs so what you are seeing with the arena issue, may have already been fixed.....I would have to check on the updated dev server....

That is because the game is not officially opened yet, its open for testing and we will close it again, reset the server and then officially open it


the version you are playing is v500, the current version is v510 and we have more updates coming so the official version may be v515

So basically it's pointless to play right now because you will reset current progress anyway? Is there a definitive date as to when the final version will be out?

at this stage, its a chance for players to learn the game and make mistakes so when we relaunch, they have a better idea of the game.....


we are doing recharge testing on monday, finishing reducing the npc atk in elite and insane mode as its too high and working on the in game video guides and finishing the automated tutorial


the main issue with the npc attack is its based around a fully out fitted player with mythic gear for that average level, which in reality is not going to happen with most players.... so its too high and resulting in players dying in a couple of hits.


as I have been telling players, they are using version 500, and dev server is actually 510


as for a launch date, I am hoping for the end of next week..... hoping
