Hi, it's not a bug. I think what you wanted to say is why he can just deploy main character without other heroes. Some players just deployed 3 heroes (including main character). All of those don't break this game's rule. But the devs will try their best to optimize the game. Hope you can understand.
No, it is impossible to deploy only your main, the game system doesn't allow you to do it, pretty sure that you can't advance in history without deploying Mikaela and Karen
