Now that you know which avatars fit your elemental needs you might be wondering where to find them. The good news is that with the exception of 4☆ Jessica all 1☆~4☆ avatars and four of the 5☆ avatars can be obtained for "free". The bad news is that you'll need to be pretty far into the game and it will take you a while to unlock some of the 4☆ and below avatars if you don't/can't participate in daily server events (and win) choose not to spend any diamonds on resets or don't already have at least VIP1 for additional solo/team dungeon rewards.
Below is a table that shows where you can get every avatar currently implemented in-game:

The Avatar Shop
The fastest way to unlock the 3☆ avatars that are not available through team dungeons and most of the 4☆ avatars (Jessica and Kody are currently not listed in the Avatar Shop) without spending diamonds on resets would be through the Avatar Shop. However you'll need to get a lot of avatar points to do so which are obtained through melting avatar cards. This is why you'll want at least VIP1 as the fastest way to getting a lot of avatar cards is through solo dungeon blitzing and having VIP1 gives you an additional roll per run/blitz for rewards. But ideally you would want VIP3 for the instant dungeon blitzing or VIP4 for the 2x chests from daily quests that give +10 stamina each (you're going need the additional stamina for blitzing).
If you choose to buy the cards in the avatar shop there's only 2 thing you need to keep in mind when picking which dungeon to blitz:-
Do NOT blitz any of the dungeons in the Polluted Swamp map(the first set of dungeons available to you). They give less rewards.

The most efficient dungeon to blitz in any map is the 3rd one; do NOT blitz the 4th dungeon since you will ultimately be getting less points out of it. (Assuming you only do 1 run of both dungeons and get the max number of cards from both you'd get 20 1☆ cards (worth 220 points) from dungeon 3 versus 10 2☆ cards (worth 150 points) from dungeon 4)
The (Painful) Cost of Avatar Levelling
With the recent Avatar Upgrade events knowing how many avatar cards you need to reach a certain level has never been more important! Whether you want to know how much money you'd have to spend to get that 3☆~5☆ avatar to the required levels or are just curious how many cards you would need to max out your avatar look no further.
Level 0 is the number of cards needed to unlock an avatar of that rarity.
